Using all of the above points provide your own reasons, opinions and examples to the question – ‘should music videos be censored?’

I believe that music videos should not be censored because I believe that the only way an artist can express their feelings and emotions is through producing their music. For example we have the music artist Eminem who has been criticised a lot with the public and the media and I don’t think they have given him a chance to just express his feelings through his lyrics and music videos. One of Eminem’s songs was censored, the censored version even took out entire sentences because they were too sexually charged. Though there was a clean version of the song only on the PA version of the Album. However considering this Eminem still shouts "Mother fucker!" on the censored version. This therefore shows that they are not too bothered about the swearing which Eminem uses because even on the censored they still allow the phrase ‘mother fucker’ to be used and I think that this is a much stronger taboo word than many others.

Censorship
Censorship is the process whereby governing bodies can stop the publication of a product or text. Censorship of music can stop a song or video from being broadcasted on radio or television, i will make sure that this not occur with my own music video. Some institutions or artists choose to censor even if governing bodies do not.
Censorship of music can stop a song or video from being broadcasted on radio or television. Music censorship has been implemented by states, religions, educational systems, families, retailers and lobbying groups – and in most cases they violate international conventions of human rights. Aside from the usual justifications of pornography, language and violence, some movies are censored due to changing racial attitudes or political correctness in order to avoid ethnic stereotyping and ethnic offense despite its historical or artistic value. So therefore i will make sure that my music video will not contain any of these justifications.

Moral Censorship
The removal of materials that is obscene or otherwise morally questionable. Pornography, for example, is often censored under this rationale, especially child pornography, which is censored in most jurisdictions in the world. My music video will certainly not include any of the above.

Political Censorship
Occurs when governments hold back information from their citizens. This is often done to exert control over the populace and prevent free expression that might foment rebellion. My music video will not include any of the above.
